Experience
I ran the Spanish Programs at Penn State University, University of Michigan and University of Arizona and was also affiliated with the Department of Education for each of those institutions. My responsibilities included creating curriculum, preparing Foreign Language teachers (all languages); training graduate student teachers; running the language lab. I taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish, Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition I also taught K-12 in the 1970s and was certified in the state of Virginia and in Ontario, Canada. In addition, 2 other language colleagues and I received an IBM grant to create a program for Foreign Language Writing with computers while at Penn State. I currently tutor privately here in the San Diego area, providing language tutoring as well as academic coaching.
